How to Translate YouTube Videos to Spanish (Subtitles and AI Voice)
Whether you are learning Spanish, watching with family, or sharing an English tutorial with a Spanish-speaking team, there are two ways to translate a YouTube video to Spanish: free text subtitles built into YouTube, or an AI voice that speaks Spanish over the video.
Option 1: YouTube auto-translate to Spanish (free, text)
- Click the gear icon in the player.
- Subtitles/CC → choose the existing caption track (for example English).
- Auto-translate → Spanish.
Works only when the video already has captions. The translation is machine text from the captions, so quality follows the captions’ quality.
Option 2: AI dubbing in Spanish
With TranslateTube the video is spoken in Spanish by a natural AI voice, with Spanish subtitles if you want them:
- Install the Chrome extension or the Android app.
- Open the video and choose Spanish as the target language.
- Turn on dubbing, pick a male or female voice, press play.
Speech is recognized from the audio, so it also works on videos without captions. The free mode has no minute limit; only videos longer than three hours are restricted.
Tips
- Language learners: Spanish dubbing plus English subtitles (or the reverse) lets you follow both.
- Regional preference: the AI voice uses neutral Spanish understood across Spain and Latin America.
